The Ludwig Museum Koblenz and Wei Gallery are pleased to announce that the artist Ping Tan will present a major exhibition, "Tan Ping: Body of Abstraction", from 1 December 2024 to 23 February 2025 at the Ludwig Museum Koblenz in Germany. The exhibition is a summation of Tan Ping's abstract art: his work is characterized by an abstract formal language in which he alternates between painterly and graphic gestures. His works were already on display at the Ludwig Museum in 2017 in the group exhibition “China – Transmission”. The current exhibition will be his first solo museum presentation in Germany.
We cordially invite all art lovers and interested collectors to join us at the opening ceremony of the Ludwig Museum Koblenz on 1 December. Tan Ping will continue to hold a series of art lectures at the museum until the end of the year, so please stay tuned.
Through 40 years of art practice, Tan Ping has been exploring many fields such as painting, printmaking, multimedia, design and so on. Tan Ping's exhibitions have been held all over Europe, and his works have been collected by the National Art Museum of China, Shanghai Art Museum, Portland Museum of Art, Ludwig Museum, Rothko Museum, Arizona State University Art Museum, and other important institutions in China and abroad.
