8月10日，中国围棋协会根据《全国围棋特色学校称号授予办法》，经推荐、评审、考核、征求意见、社会公示等规范程序，对全国围棋活动开展较好、弘扬传统文化成效显著的学校进行公示。

On 10th August , according to the "Measures for Awarding the Title of National Weiqi Characteristic Schools", the Chinese Weiqi Association publicized the schools with good Weiqi activities and remarkable achievements in promoting traditional culture through the standard procedures of recommendation, review, assessment, soliciting opinions and social publicity.

Jinan Thomas School was awarded "National Weiqi Characteristic School". 

全国围棋特色学校是校园围棋教育传承的示范、先行和骨干力量，是对全国校园围棋开展较好的中小学的鼓励和促进。

National Weiqi characteristic schools are the demonstration, pioneer and mainstay of the inheritance of Weiqi education on campus, and it is a good encouragement and promotion for primary and secondary schools with better Weiqi courses.

学校校长有多年创设围棋特色学校管理经验，曾担任山东省围棋协会副理事长，济南市围棋协会副秘书长，打造过济南市青少年围棋比赛活动中心，济南市围棋教学示范化学校等。

The school principal has many years of experience in the management of Weiqi characteristic schools. He served as the vice chairman of Shandong Weiqi Association and deputy secretary-general of Jinan Weiqi Association. He also built the Jinan Youth Weiqi Competition Activity Center and Jinan Weiqi Teaching Demonstration School, etc.

小学部开设围棋课，同时初中部开设围棋选修课，聘请中国围棋协会讲师团成员，济南市著名专业围棋教师到校任教，并带学校围棋社团训练提高。

With the specialized guidance from Chinese Weiqi Association Instructor’s Group and the professional teaching from reputable Weiqi teachers in Jinan, Thomas primary school offers Weiqi course, and Thomas junior high school has Weiqi lesson as elective course. Professionals train the school Weiqi club members to improve their skills. 

每学期期末都举办中（小）学部围棋比赛，评选出优秀校园棋手。

At the end of each semester, the school organises the competition to reward the outstanding Weiqi players.
