Living and working in Jinan for the past 16 years has been an enriching experience. The people of Jinan are warm and kind-hearted, always willing to lend a helping hand in any situation. Their genuine hospitality truly makes this city feel like home.

At Jinan Thomas Primary School, where I have been fortunate to work for the past four years, I have witnessed a strong support system in place for our teachers. Our Chinese colleagues, team leaders, and principals are consistently prepared to assist, ensuring that teachers have a positive and rewarding working experience.

I've recently collaborated with the HR department to create a series of videos designed to help new first-time foreign teachers navigate the often overwhelming world of technology in China. These videos cover a wide range of essential topics, from setting up Alipay and WeChat to finding the best places to buy food, picking up Taobao packages, linking bank cards, and even figuring out how to use public transportation like buses, the subway, and Didi. Our hope is that these resources will create a welcoming environment and ensure a smooth transition for all new teachers as they settle into their new surroundings.
